At Lynvale, we started manufacturing slit-back (split-liner) airtight tapes ourselves because we kept hearing the same feedback from contractors and customers: standard off-the-shelf sizes and configurations simply don’t suit the realities of real building projects.A recent example perfectly illustrates this. A customer needed a 200mm wide plasterable airtight tape with a 20mm–180mm split-back liner. No existing product on the market came close to meeting their exact requirements. So we designed and produced it specifically for them — and delivered the finished product within a week.
Why We Make Them In-House
By manufacturing these tapes in our own factory, we have complete control over widths, slit positions, adhesive types, and liner configurations. This means we can create truly bespoke airtight tapes that solve genuine on-site challenges quickly and efficiently.Our slit-back airtight tapes are particularly effective when sealing difficult joints, working in tight or awkward spaces, connecting uneven surfaces, forming right angles, or pulling two substrates together.
The pre-slit liner acts like an extra pair of hands on site, allowing you to:
