Slit & Re-Wind Roll Slitting is used instead of conventional roll slitting for certain applications.

We can slit material up-to 1M wide in virtually any length (depending upon the thickness of the material). Tolerances can be held to +/- 0.25mm and very straight edges are achieved using web guiding techniques.

Material is taken from the on-wind bar, through either fixed or rotating blades (depending upon the type of material we are slitting) and is re-wound into finished rolls on the re-wind bar. This technique can be used for double sided self adhesive materials such as thin double sided foam tapes but is more frequently used for single sided foam or single sided film or non adhesive film or non adhesive plastic.

The process lends itself to larger volume slitting where very accurate sizes, straight edges and tight re-winding are all essential (for example where the finished rolls are to be further processed through an automatic machine).

Lynvale will slit & re-wind Customer supplied Free Issue Material but will also supply finished rolls using the following materials: -

• Single Sided Filmic Products
• Non Adhesive Filmic Products

This process is not only very accurate but also minimises waste (there is very little need to take trim off feed material). If you have very expensive feed material that needs slitting, this is probably the answer.
